I’m a graphic designer from East Millinocket, Maine, and at least a fourth-generation Mainer. My family’s roots stretch across the state, and that connection has shaped how I see good work.

Growing up, I didn’t always appreciate Maine for what it was. Like a lot of people raised here, I spent years focused on what I thought it lacked rather than recognizing everything it quietly offered—character, resilience, craftsmanship, and a deep pride in doing things well.

That perspective changed over time.

Today, I approach design with the same respect many Mainers bring to their own trades. Whether it’s on the water, in the woods, or in the workshop, there’s a standard here: work hard, do it right, and let the quality speak for itself. That’s the mindset I bring to every project.

I genuinely love this work, and I’m grateful to do it every day.

The Maine-inspired designs behind Bckwds are, in many ways, a tribute to the place I grew up in—a way of reconnecting with home and translating that appreciation into something tangible.

For me, design is about creating work with meaning, built with intention, and rooted in something real.
